Operators
People in each town who gather the public record and keep it current.
What an Operator does for the record
- Reads the record. Budgets, agendas, minutes, contracts and state filings for their town.
- Files public-records requests for what isn’t published, and tracks each one to its answer.
- Goes and looks. Dated photos of the sites, signs and facilities the record describes.
- Asks officials on the record and writes down the answer, the name and the date.
- Reports gaps. When a record doesn’t exist or wasn’t produced, that fact is logged too.
The rules every Operator follows
- Every fact has a locator: a link, a page number, a records-request number, or a dated photo.
- No conclusion goes ahead of its evidence. “Not yet known” is published as not yet known.
- Same standard for everyone: the city, a company, a resident and the Council itself.
- Corrections are published where the original appeared.
- The record states facts only. Arguments and calls to action are published elsewhere, labeled as such.
How an Operator’s work reaches this site
An Operator’s facts, photos and records enter the town’s page only after they pass the same verification as every other fact on this site. Each one keeps its source.
